Annual Lane Clean-Up and Spring/Summer Update:

The annual lane clean-up took place on Saturday 18th April. If you did not get a chance to take part on the day there is still plenty of time for spring cleaning! See here for more details.
We will host an online (Zoom) workshop on SEAI retrofit grants on 12th May, 6.30 pm - see email and leaflet for further information.
The Association is currently distibuting its Spring/Summer Update including the date for the Members' Coffee Morning in Palmerston Park.
We have a new page with a directory of historic residents of interest and another page about street name signage. Both are "works in progress".

Garda Safety Clinic

We had a very worthwhile Garda Safety Clinic on Sunday 8th March afternoon in the Long Room of Trinity Church, and it was great to see so many of our members there. Many thanks to our Community Gardaí who gave a very clear and practical presentation on ways we can all stay a bit safer in our daily lives. A significant part of the session focused on using the Garda Síochána Property App for which there QR code in this document if you would like to download it. They also gave tips on protecting your phone itself.

They also showed us how to set up emergency contact and medical details on our phones, so that in the event of an accident or emergency, first responders can access important information even if we are unable to unlock our phones ourselves. It’s a small step, but one that could make a real difference.

We hope to organise further sessions in the future.

The campaign to save Rathmines Post Office continues. The matter has been raised in Dáíl Éireann during statements on Post Office closures - see here. (Search for "Rathmines" to find the specific comments about our local Post Office.)
The Association continues to pursue various channels in an effort to save this important public service. See our email communications.

Following the decision of 16th December 2024 by An Bord Pleanála on the BusConnects Templeogue/Rathfarnham to City Centre Core Bus Corridor Scheme (decision documents at https://www.pleanala.ie/en-ie/case/316272) , a number of Judicial Review cases were initiated by various parties in the High Court.
