Belgrave Residents Association would like to congratulate member Enid O’Dowd on the publication of her first fiction book Fateful Decisions (sub title: there’s a fine line between acceptable parenting and neglect). The book was formally launched at the Irish Writers Centre last November by Frances Fitzgerald, then Minister for Children, who described it as a great ‘read.’

The book tells the story of two children who go missing, one in Waterford and one in the UK after questionable parenting decisions. Narrator Molly solves the mystery using an internet discussion forum, social media and some good old fashioned detective work but is herself left with a ‘fateful decision.’ For more information see Enid’s website www.enidodowd.com

Association Chairwoman Shelagh Jennings looked after the local launch at the Ranelagh Arts Centre. Her review of the book is attached below

The book is available from the library, locally in Dubray Books in the Swan Centre and in Alan Hanna’s, and as an eBook from amazon.com.

Enid O'Dowd is also the author of Cancer in a Cold Climate, about the campaign to save St Luke’s Hospital.
