New 128 bus route - replacement by 140 bus

Councillor Mary Freehill recently sent us the following information:

The No. 128 bus will be replaced by No. 140, it will have the same frequency of 10 minutes and leave from the same stop on Palmerston Park. Instead of travelling to Clongriffin it will go to IKEA in Ballymun. See attachment for route.

The full official details are on:

http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/Network-Direct/Network-Direct-Phase-2/Swords--Santry--Rathfarnham--Terenure/

The part relevant to our area is:

Route 140, operating a high frequency service with a departure every 10 minutes at peak times, will be extended from its current terminus Leeson Street (Wilton Terrace) to Rathmines (Palmerston Park). This will replace route 128 in this area and on Rathmines Road Upper.

The consultation period is currently ongoing and Dublin Bus has organised information roadshows where members of the public will be able to meet with members of Dublin Bus to discuss any concerns that they may have.

The details on the roadshow are as follows:

Date: Wednesday June 22nd

Time: 3.00pm-8.00pm

Venue: St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, Terenure

Information on the upcoming roadshow is available on the Dublin Bus website and on the Dublin Bus Twitter and Facebook pages and will be advertised in The Evening Herald and local media nearer the time. Alternatively, customers can e-mail in comments tonetworkdirect@dublinbus.ie.
